Psychological themes in theorising the Chinese learner
In these two sections, we consider research from two classic psychological traditions. First, we identify claims that basic cognitive processing might be characterised differently between Asian and Western cultures. Insofar as there is evidence for such claims, it is natural to turn towards the literature of psychological development - practices of child rearing that might serve to cultivate such differences.
