The sections here attempt to synthesise what has been said so far under this topic. The discussion is grounded in claims regarding a "learning paradox". Namely, that the outcome of Chinese education is often marked by success - relative to other educational systems. Yet to outside observers the system does not look as if it should be successful in this way. The paradox is then addressed and finally we present an overall conclusion
