A summary of the Overarching Research in eChina~UK
At the outset, the eChina-UK partners agreed a programme of overarching research that would address two key themes each of which comprise two associated work packages. Throughout the project merging of the work packages was apparent given the close nature of the associated materials and data
The present website presents material arising from our findings. It is not a complete record of that research. Other and fuller documents have been submitted to our funders, HEFCE.
Theme 1 : Key issues in e-learning
This theme focused on ensuring that national perspectives on effective learning processes, outcomes, pedagogy, and the aims and uses of (e)learning environments are made mutually explicit, recognised and understood.
Theme 2 : Regulatory and institutional constraints for the exploitation of e-learning.
The second theme focused on ensuring that the wider institutional and regulatory practices that will ultimately govern the adoption, use and evaluation of e-learning provision are made explicit and are mutually understood. The rationale for this work is to add to the growing guidelines and tool support for designers and teaching practitioners in relation to matters of quality control and the rights of intellectual property as they apply to the development of e-learning materials.
